The Sudios Orchard FM have been broadcasting from their studios at Shoreditch, near Taunton, since the station launced in 1989. As you can see; the building, know as "Haygrove House", was originally a residential dwelling and was cleverly converted to be used as studios. The building is set in about an acre of grounds and even has it's own tennis court! The studios, more commonly known to listeners as "Orchard Towers", also needed to be double glazed and sound-proofed as they are literally only seconds away from the busy M5 motorway. Orchard FM uses state of the art technology for everything that you hear on-air. Most of the music played is now generated by computer, including the commercials and jingles. However there is still traditional equipment installed such as CD players for some output or use in emergencies! After the change of management, GWR were quick to install "Networking" equipment to allow the station to broadcast shows such as "Saturday Night Live" and "Graham Torrington Show". Haygrove House
